Golden milk: recipe and benefits

Milk is mixed with turmeric, oriental spice of the ginger family known for its many beneficial properties, for centuries used in Ayurveda for its preventive and therapeutic properties. Firstly you need to create the base of turmeric paste which can be conserved to use whenever you wish. Add 50g of turmeric powder to 120ml of mineral water. Heat gently until the mixture has a creamy texture. After cooling, pour into a glass jar and store in the refrigerator up to 40 days.
To prepare one cup of golden milk simply pour 1 cup of rice or oat milk into a saucepan, add half a teaspoon of turmeric paste and heat until very warm. Remove from heat and pour the drink into a cup. Add 1 teaspoon of manuka honey, 1 teaspoon of almond oil (or extra virgin olive oil) and a sprinkling of cinnamon. Mix well and serve hot.

Golden Milk is a wonderful natural beverage recommended as a remedy for difficult digestion, for menstrual pain, joint pain, headaches, back pain, or toothache and also for liver disorders and to stimulate the secretion of bile.
It is particularly suitable for joint and muscle pain and inflammation. In this case one cup a day for forty days is recommended.
It helps lubricate the joints and spine and is therefore ideal for sports injury, back pain and spinal disorders.
The milk used is rice or soy and therefore suitable for vegans. The healing properties of turmeric extend to relief from minor breathing problems, especially for sinusitis and bronchitis and to purification of the liver.
